A park authority in Cumbria has taken on a "tsar" to try and cut its greenhouse gas emissions.
Carbon reduction advisor Charlotte Smyrl will be tackling energy efficiency for the Lake District National Park Authority.
Her first job will be to scrutinise emissions from the authority's vehicles as well as to monitor the energy efficiency of its buildings.
The authority said having a green champion signalled a "new era."
Ms Smyrl said: "The Carbon Trust has already carried out a survey and identified a lot of opportunities.
"People are working hard to make a difference and my role is to bring all that fantastic effort together."
