A 20ft scrap metal sculpture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex displayed at a Weymouth bay and confiscated by council chiefs has been returned to its owner. The dinosaur, made from old tractors, was left at the beach as a publicity stunt to promote a local attraction. But Weymouth and Portland Council removed the £2,000 creation, saying it was dangerous for beach users. Owner Paul Swaffield said in future he would consult the council to avoid paying a fine.
