Plans unveiled for historic park
Crystal Palace Sports Centre
The plans will be displayed in a marquee in the park.
Crystal Palace Sports Centre could be rebuilt under new plans to revamp a south London park.

The proposals for Crystal Palace Park are being unveiled on Friday by the London Development Agency (LDA).

Residents are being asked for their views on ideas for the 200-acre park which range from low-scale work to a major overhaul.

Plans for the sports facilities include the possibility of building a new state-of-the art centre.

LDA said a lot of the ideas could be very costly, but this stage of consultation was about finding out what Londoners thought before formal proposals were put forward.

Mayor of London Ken Livingstone said: "Crystal Palace has an illustrious history as a sports venue and park and as a one-time home to the Crystal Palace.

"This consultation will allow local people their sat on how to return Crystal Palace to its status as a must-visit site for London."

The ideas will be displayed in a marquee in the park from 18 until 26 September.
