A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a convicted gunman on Merseyside.

Daniel Keatinge, 25, was shot in a targeted attack on Formosa Road, Fazakerley, on 30 January.

Keatinge was jailed for eight years in August 2003 for shooting two clubbers in Liverpool city centre.

The man arrested, from Magull, is being questioned. Merseyside Police are still offering a £10,000 for information leading to the killer's conviction.

Det Ch Insp Dave Brunskill said: "We are determined to find the person responsible for the murder of Daniel Keatinge."

Police want to trace a blue "53" registered Vauxhall Astra seen on Formosa Road on the night of the shooting.

A man his mid to late 20s, with short hair and medium build who was seen opposite the murder scene, is being sought by officers.

He was carrying a white bag and using a mobile telephone, said police.

In 2003 Keatinge shot at a nightclub doorman but struck the clubbers. Neither was seriously hurt.

He admitted wounding, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and dangerous driving at Liverpool Crown Court.
