Man cleared of bat attack at rave

A man has been cleared of assaulting his former girlfriend's new partner with a baseball bat at an illegal rave in Thetford Forest in Norfolk.

Kalvin Biddle, 33, of The Row, Wereham, King's Lynn, Norfolk, was found not guilty of assaulting Richard Hammond causing actual bodily harm.

Mr Biddle told Norwich Crown Court he had not gone to the rave on 27 July and had been at home on his computer.

He said he had been banned from attending illegal raves by police.

Lori Tucker, prosecuting, said Mr Biddle was obsessed with his former partner Tina Weston.

Mr Biddle said he had loved her, but had since moved on.

Ms Weston told the court that she saw Mr Biddle strike Mr Hammond, who was hit across the head with a baseball bat.

Mr Biddle agreed he knew his former partner and Mr Hammond were going to the rave, but added: "I did not go to that rave and I did not inflict those injuries."
