A Shropshire funeral director has discovered his new hearse played a major part in the nation's history.
Aubrey Kirkham from Four Crosses has found out the Rolls Royce was used as a limousine for prime ministers Winston Churchill and Neville Chamberlain.
He did not know it had been built for government use when he bought it.
He has been told it may have driven Mr Chamberlain in Munich for the meeting with Adolf Hitler when he declared afterwards that peace had been secured.
Mr Kirkham found out more about the Wraith hearse's past when he informed the Rolls Royce Club he had bought it to add to his fleet.
He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "Apparently it was sent to Paris as the embassy car.
"It was suggested that it also went overland to Munich when Neville Chamberlain met Hitler in what became known as the 'peace in our time' meeting."
