October: President Obama and Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki of Iraq prepare to meet the press after meeting in the Oval Office. The president reiterated his commitment that US combat troops will be out of Iraq by August 2010.
October: President Obama gets a warm greeting after speaking at Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Florida. In his speech he pledged not to risk the lives of US armed forces "unless it is absolutely necessary".
November: On a visit to great wall of China, just north of Beijing, President Obama takes a moment to sign some papers.
December: On holiday in Hawaii, President Obama plays golf. Some putts need a bit of encouragement to drop in.
