Barristers have threatened to boycott some court cases in Northern Ireland in a dispute over fees.
It is claimed there have been long delays in the payment of legal aid to barristers involved in costly cases which require complex evidence experts.
The Bar Council has suggested lawyers are owed up to �40m in back payments, with some having to wait more than three years before being paid.
A spokeswoman said they are hopeful an agreement could be reached soon.
A Courts Service spokeswoman said discussions were continuing to avoid the need for industrial action.
