Cockney singing duo Chas and Dave will perform at Maydaze 2006 in Glasgow.
About 20,000 people are expected to attend the annual festival of music, dance and family events on Glasgow Green on 7 May.
The festivities follow the traditional Mayday Rally, organised by the Glasgow Trades Union Council, which honours the city's labour movement.
Chas Hodges, from the famous London duo, said Maydaze was a "real event for the people" and "a barmy day out".
Councillor John Lynch said: "Maydaze is a fantastic, family friendly event.
"It's entirely free and held in a marvellous setting.
"Chas and Dave suit the event right down to the ground."
