Martin Boyce's sculpture was one starting point for the project Pupils' musical art

Broomhill and Whiteinch primary pupils worked on the scheme with the help of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art (Goma).

They each produced a piece of music to accompany an artwork at the gallery.

The Sound Stations project, which also includes video footage as well as the compositions, will be on display at the gallery until December.

It forms part of the 10th annual Inspiration Arts Festival, which provides opportunities for young people to learn through art, music, drama, dance and literature.

The 50 pupils worked alongside specialists from Goma and the BBC, combining music, sculpture and video technology.

Martin Boyce's installation Our Love is Like the Earth, the Sun, the Trees and the Birth and Christine Borland's After a True Story - Giant and Fairy Tales were used as the basis of the works.

Music education specialist Karen McIver and musicians from the BBC SSO helped the children to express their own interpretations and provided sound for inclusion in the compositions.
