Organisers are blaming cutbacks in funding

Jersey's Battle of Flowers Town Parade has been cancelled this year.
Organisers are blaming cutbacks in funding.
For the last six years the Battle Flowers Town Parade has given St Helier a carnival atmosphere in the days before the main event.
But float exhibitors have already taken a cut in the guaranteed funding they receive for 2003.
Battle organisers are confident that despite the financial situation this year's event will be as spectacular as ever.
Jersey's Chamber of Commerce says St Helier retailers are expected to be disappointed by the loss of the parade.
