The town parade has been cancelled

The number of tickets sold for this year's Jersey Battle of Flowers is up on two years ago.
And that is despite the cancellation of the two-day build-up prior to the main event.
The event has been hit by cuts in spending over the past few months.
The cuts meant the town parade which traditionally leads up to the main event was cancelled, as well as reducing guaranteed funding for float exhibitors.
But according to the committee it has not affected the sale of tickets which, although considerably less than the centenary Battle of Flowers last year, are better than sales for 2001.
The committee is confident, despite the financial situation, this year's event will be as spectacular as ever.
