Steps stars reunite
Former Steps duo H and Claire are will return to pop music in May when they release their single, called DJ.
The group split up over Christmas 2001, and the duo - Ian Watkins and Claire Richards - have now signed a new deal with Warner Brothers. The record, released on 6 May, is written by Graham Stack and Paul Rein - who have penned tracks for Kylie Minogue and Christina Aguilera. Steps were criticised by fans for the timing of their split - the announcement came on Boxing Day, following a nationwide tour.
Candle leads Elton poll Ballad Candle in the Wind is leading a poll by Sir Elton John fans to find their favourite song by the flamboyant singer. The star will sing a top 10 of his classics, as voted for by the public, on an ITV1 show on Saturday. Sir Elton will sing live from the famed nightclub Studio 54 in New York. Candle in the Wind is the best-selling UK single of all time after its re-release in the wake of the death of Princess Diana.
New sports station goes in air Footballers' Wives star Zoe Lucker teamed up with real life soccer star Teddy Sheringham to kick off a new national sports station. The actress, who played hardbitten Tania Turner in the ITV1 drama, launched 24-hour station Teamtalk 252. The station is hoping to take on the sports coverage already provided by BBC Radio Five Live and talkSPORT. It replaces former music channel Atlantic 252 on long wave.
Wilson launches landmine campaign Actor Richard Wilson has launched a new campaign warning children about the dangers of landmines. The former One Foot In The Grave star helped give away free resources pack to schools. He was joined at the event at London's Pimlico School by fellow landmine campaigner and charity fund raiser Chris Moon. The Landmine Action Schools Pack is sponsored by the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
Gareth makes Pepsi link Pop Idol finalist Gareth Gates has signed a six-figure deal with drinks giant Pepsi. The 17-year-old follows in the footsteps of pop greats Michael Jackson and Madonna. Pepsi plan to feature Gareth in a string of on-pack promotions, including competitions offering fans the chance to meet him. Gareth's debut single, a cover of Unchained Melody, is released on March 18.
