Kaiser Chiefs
Kaiser Chiefs are to headline the opening night of next year's Isle of Wight Festival.

The Leeds band complete the trio of headliners, joining veteran punk rockers Sex Pistols who will be topping the bill on the Saturday night.

Reformed band The Police are also set to headline on the final night, their only UK festival show for 2008.

The festival runs over three days from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 June. Tickets go on sale at 0900GMT on 10 December.

Kaiser Chiefs, who recently completed a UK tour, announced this week they are to play their biggest concert at a homecoming show in Leeds next year.

The concert, which will also feature The Enemy and Kate Nash, will take place at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium on 24 May.

The band claimed their first number one in the singles chart in February this year, with the song Ruby.

Their debut album Employment was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2005 and they scooped three Brit Awards in 2006.
