Springsteen to play at Hyde Park

Springsteen announced a world tour last month

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are to perform at Hard Rock Calling in London's Hyde Park in June.

The Boss will headline the second night of the two-day event on Sunday 28 June, and has also been heavily tipped to headline Glastonbury the same weekend.

Support at Hard Rock will come from the Dave Matthews Band and up-and-coming New Jersey rockers The Gaslight Anthem.

Tickets for the event, costing from �45, will go on sale at 0900 GMT on Friday 13 February.

Last month, Springsteen announced plans for a world tour, starting in California in April with dates across the US and Europe in the spring and summer.

Eric Clapton and The Police headlined Hard Rock Calling last year, while Aerosmith, Roger Waters and The Who have performed in recent years.

Further acts performing on Saturday 27 June are to be confirmed shortly.

The Glastonbury line-up, meanwhile, will be officially revealed on 1 June.
