Are You being Served star on Wendy

Friends and former colleagues of Wendy Richard have been paying tribute to the actress who has died from cancer, aged 65.

Trevor Bannister who played Mr Lucas in Are You Being Served knew Wendy Richard well after working with her for many years in the 1970's comedy.

He said that when she was first offered the part of Pauline Fowler in EastEnders she thought the show was a BBC sitcom.
