Lisa leaves the Big Brother house

Channel 4 has announced next year's Big Brother series will be the last.

Lisa Wallace was greeted by loud boos after becoming the latest housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house.

Wallace, 41, who is unemployed and from Birmingham, was the 13th person to be voted off the Channel 4 show.

All the remaining housemates - Wallace plus David Ramsden, Charlie Drummond, Rodrigo Lopes, Siavash Sabbaghpour and Sophie Reade had been up for eviction.

It is the final week of the series and the winner will be announced on Friday night during a live show.

House rules

After her eviction, Wallace told presenter Davina McCall she was not upset to be missing the final.

"I know it's going to be buzzing and that but I feel like I'm lucky to get through to this week," she said.

"I thought I would be out two weeks after I went in. You never know when you're in there what's going to happen, the mood changes all the time."

This year some of the 22 participants have refused to comply with the house rules and nominate their fellow housemates.

This week all six contestants agreed not to nominate, but at the last minute Ramsden, Wallace and Lopes changed their minds.

According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, glamour model Reade is the favourite to win.

Last week Channel 4 announced that next year's Big Brother series would be the last.

Ratings for the show have declined in recent years, with the current run the least watched in its nine-year history.

The new series has attracted about two million viewers per show, compared with an audience high of eight million in 2002.
