Knox defence claims she is innocent of Kercher murder

The defence for American student Amanda Knox has been wrapping up its closing statement.

Lawyers called for all charges against the 22-year-old to be dropped, saying she had no involvement in the killing of British student Meredith Kercher in 2007.

Miss Kercher's throat had been slit and the prosecution said she had been the victim of sexual games "gone wrong" involving Knox and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.

Amanda Knox's sister, Deanna Knox, said she was sure the American would go home a free woman.
