A man who spent the latter part of his working life developing Guernsey's museums is being honoured by having a local gallery named after him.
The Guernsey museum is attributing a temporary gallery space in honour of Brian Downing White.
He initiated ideas which led to the development of Fort Grey and the Castle Cornet museums.
The culmination of his career was the building of the museum in Candie Gardens in 1978.
