Survey checks island's land birds
An organised survey of Alderney's land birds is being carried out for the first time in order to identify which species need protecting.

The Alderney Wildlife Trust and RSPB have teamed up to gather the data and hope to repeat the survey in the future to keep up to date with species.

Alderney is famous for its sea birds, but less research has been undertaken about its land birds.

The island is home to species such as the Ringed Plover and Dartford Warbler.
