E-gambling makes island over �1m
|
|
Alderney's online gambling industry made the island more than �1m last year, it has emerged.
Alderney Gambling Commission regulates the industry on behalf of the States and has awarded 35 companies a licence to operate online gambling services.
The commission has announced an operating surplus of �1,325,000 for 2006 - nearly double the previous year's results.
All the money raised will go back into the island's general revenue fund.
