The new police recruits will be trained locally
Hundreds of people have applied to become police officers on the Isle of Man in the latest recruitment drive.

The Isle of Man Constabulary received around 340 applications, and just under 50 of them have been picked to undergo further testing.

Six to eight people will be taken on, and trained locally.

Deputy Chief Constable, Mike Langdon, says the recruits are not extras, but are replacing people who have come to the end of their service.
