Manx police go live on internet
The Isle of Man Department of Home Affairs website
The Isle of Man police has the largest section on the new site
The Isle of Man police force has its own web pages as part of a new government internet site.

The Department of Home Affairs has launched a site, covering police, fire and rescue, probation, prison, communications and emergency planning.

The website details the department's staff as well as a summary of the services it provides on the island.

The Isle of Man Constabulary has the largest section, which includes the force history, as well as current work.

'Adds value'

Home Affairs Minister John Shimmin said: "The launch of the website this week fulfils a long held aspiration of the Department to give people greater access to the workings of Home Affairs and all its divisions.

"I look forward to constructive comments on how it can be improved in the future but for now I'm delighted that this improved resource is available to the public."

The website is available through the Government's main web pages.

Chief Constable Mike Culverhouse, of Isle of Man police, said the website "adds considerable value" to the force's aims.
