Fish caught in traps or by line do not harm the marine environment
Eating locally-caught fish helps conserve global fish stocks, according to a local film-maker and environmentalist in Jersey.

The Marine Conservation Society has published guidelines on which fish are endangered and which are safe to eat.

But local wildlife film maker Sue Daley says local fishing methods are environmentally sound.

She says much of the island's shellfish is caught in traps and has little effect on the marine environment.

Ms Daley added: "If you're choosing bass, mackerel or bream, they're all line-caught, which again does no damage at all on the sea bed."
