Guide's praise for Jersey beaches
St Brelade's
St Brelade's Bay is one of the beaches listed
Ten Jersey beaches have been named in the Good Beach Guide.

The guide, put together by the National Marine Conservation Society, has praised the standard of Jersey's beaches for the third year running.

The Jersey beaches singled out in this years guide are the same ones which were successful last year.

They include: St Ouen's Bay, St Brelade's Bay and Green Island. No Channel Island beaches failed the EU minimum standards.

The Conservation Society praised Jersey for having one of the most comprehensive sewage treatment programmes in Britain, which has helped its beaches stay clear from infections.

Similar improvements are due to be made in Guernsey over the next few years.
