The age of consent for gay men in Jersey could be lowered to 16.
Politicians will debate plans to update the sexual offences law. It is proposed sex between men will be dealt with in the same way as between men and women.
If approved, it would mean the age of consent between men would be lowered from 18 to 16.
The Home Affairs Committee said the case for reform in the island is based on rulings of the European Court of Human Rights.
Anal intercourse between a man and a woman over the age of 16 could also become legal under the new law.
