Twenty-six pence of every pound spent by the States of Jersey goes towards the island's health service.
The information has been published in a booklet of facts and figures about life in the island.
The booklet also reveals that 18p goes on education and 17p on employment and social security. Income tax contributes 82p pence for every �1 of money paid.
The Home Affairs Department, which is in charge of the police and the prison, gets 8p from each pound.
Other sources of income for the States include duty on fuel, alcohol, cigarettes and stamp duty.
