More organic fruit and vegetables should be grown locally, according to the Jersey Organic Association.
It said it came to its conclusion after speaking to the island's growers and sellers.
The association wanted to find out what produce was popular and where there was a gap in the market.
It said imported vegetables such as potatoes, broccoli and onions could just as easily be grown in Jersey.
The association also suggested that crops of spinach, cauliflower and cabbage could be grown in bigger quantities.
By the end of last year, about 405 vergees (74.5 hectares) of Jersey's arable land were devoted to organic growing, out of more than 31,000 vergees (5,690 hectares).
