Assistant health minister resigns
Deputy Celia Scott-Warren, Pic: States of Jersey
Deputy Celia Scott-Warren told the BBC she was sad to go
Jersey's Assistant Health Minister has resigned from her position.

Deputy Celia Scott-Warren has written to the Deputy Chief Minister Senator Terry Le Sueur explaining the reasons for her decision.

She said she could no longer support the Minister, Senator Stuart Syvret in his stewardship of the States department of health.

It follows a decision by Mr Syvret to fire the head of the Child Protection Committee, Iris Le Feuvre, this week.

William Ogley, head of Jersey's Civil Service said Mrs Le Feuvre was fired without consulting his executive or chief officers, which is recommended by the States but not required.

Iris Le Feuvre received a 13-page letter informing her of the decision from Mr Syvret on Thursday.

Deputy Celia Scott-Warren told the BBC she was sad to go.

The Health Minister was unavailable for comment.
