American shuttle Atlantis docked with Russia's space station Mir

29th June 1995: STS-71 mission commander Robert L Gibson (in red) clasps the hand of Vladimir N Dezhurov, the Mir-18 commander, after the American shuttle Atlantis docked with Russia's space station Mir. This handshake commemorated the historic meeting of cosmonauts and astronauts on the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, twenty years earlier.
