Mao Zedong (1893-1976), Chinese Communist leader who was chairman of the Communist party of China and the principal founder of the People's Republic of China, as a young man circa 1925.

Chairman Mao, the chief architect of the Chinese revolution died 9 September 1976 at the age of 82.
