Your pictures: Cafe Africa

Here are some more pictures sent in by you the readers of cafe life in Africa. We start with a photo from Anne Decker in Maputo, Mozambique.

Another one of Anne's favourite Maputo cafes.

Adrienne Gill took this while having a celebratory meal of coffee and popcorn in a village close to the Eritrean capital of Asmara.

Sofia T McKinney: "A very happy three-year-old Segen posing for the traditional African coffee ceremony. In a few years we hope she will carry on the tradition and actually brew the coffee."

Tim Eldridge sent us images of cafe life in Tanzania.

"There is nothing else like them anywhere in the world!"

Briony Campbell: "This Zanzibar cafe is the best place in Stone Town for chips and chilli sauce, and once-upon-a-time milkshakes too. Tragically the refrigerator no longer works. The tropical backdrops are the next best thing to a beach front property!"

Will Radford sent us his pictures of cafes in South Africa, taken while he was on holiday there earlier this year.

"I visited Franschhoek Cafe in the winelands near Cape Town...

...and watched the sunset from this one in Jeffrey's Bay in the Western Cape."

Rami: "This photo is taken at half past three in the morning and is typical of life in an Egyptian cafe. Our cafes are busier during the night. While the rest of Africa sleeps... Egypt's cafes are filled with the bubbling sounds of the shisha."
