Held annually each July at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, the Royal International Air Tattoo is described by organisers as the world's largest military air show.
This year saw displays by the US Air Force's aerobatics display team, the Thunderbirds, made up of F-16 Fighting Falcons.
The Thunderbirds gave a rare performance in the UK to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the US Air Force.
About 160,000 spectators were expected to attend the event, which was to feature more than 300 performing aircraft over the course of Saturday and Sunday.
Among the other aircraft taking to the skies at the show was a B1 Bomber.
