Dover Castle is to be lit up in a technicolour light show to mark the reopening of its Great Tower by English Heritage after a �2.45m investment.
The tower has been brought back to life as it would have been in medieval times when King Henry II lavished money on it in "Elton John" proportions.
The light projections on the castle's 100ft (31m) high walls will be seen in France as part of a celebration worthy of one of history's biggest show-offs.
The Great Tower's medieval interiors have been recreated to show how Henry II built one of the most opulent and impressive palaces in Europe.
The projections on the castle walls on Saturday will include some of the images featured inside the building, including eagles, dragons and fleur de lys.
