The Director of Public Prosecutions, Keir Starmer, is preparing to issue his final clarification on when people in England and Wales will be charged for helping someone to end their life.
Newsnight has spoken to two people who have very different views about the new guidelines. Barrie Sheldon's wife, Elizabeth had Huntington's disease and took her own life. Barrie hopes that the new guidelines will be as liberal as possible and allow people who assist others to die to be sure that they will not be prosecuted. This is his story.
