Soldiers held after Bihar clash
map of Bihar
Police in the Indian state of Bihar have arrested six soldiers and three civilians after a fight on a train.

A senior railway official said a group of passengers claimed they were beaten up after refusing to leave a section supposedly reserved for the army.

The official said the passengers in fact had every right to their places on the train, which had been bound for the capital of Assam, Guwahati.

Bihar is one of India's poorest and most lawless states.
