DINESH GAIKWAD, 45, DOCTOR, MAHARASHTRA
I am a practising physician in rural Maharashtra and I have been working with my small hospital and laboratory for the last 16 years.
If I were a prime minister I would like to concentrate on education as illiteracy is a major concern all over India.
People in India are divided by state, caste, religion. There should be military training to unite them as an Indian. The youth of my country are ready to die for their religion rather than for their motherland - I will try to change this attitude.
We have a lot of land but not enough irrigation schemes. I will work hard in this area.
Our huge population will be a power if I can provide work to every hand. I will try to reduce the gap by uplifting rural India.
