City gets park and ride
Park and ride bus
Weekend sporting fixtures will test the scheme
A 3m park and ride scheme is being launched in Hull to help reduce congestion in the city centre.

More than 500 car park spaces have been set aside for the scheme at Priory Park in the west of the city.

Park and ride buses will run at ten minute intervals from 0700 GMT until 1900 GMT on weekdays, and with a slightly reduced service on Saturdays.

Passengers using the service have three choices of destination - the city centre, Royal Infirmary or the Kingston Communications Stadium.

Hull City's home match against Lincoln City on Saturday and Hull FC's rugby league Challenge Cup clash with Halifax on Sunday are expected to test the new facilities.

Hull City Council officials also hope that the easy-to-board buses will encourage people with disabilities and parents with pushchairs to use the service.
