Woman dies after cruiser capsizes
A woman has died after becoming trapped in the hull of a capsized boat carrying 10 people.

The boat overturned on Saturday evening on River Bure at Horning, Norfolk.

The woman was one of two trapped in an air pocket in the hull for about an hour as rescuers cut a hole through the bottom.

Both were unconscious by the time they were freed.

They were airlifted to hospital but one later died, the Norfolk Fire Service said.

The second woman was suffering from hypothermia.

A Fire Service spokeswoman said crews were alerted at 1835 BST and reported that the women had been freed at 1925 BST.

"As far as we understand the cruiser hit a bank and turned over," she said.

The other eight people on board the 20ft cruiser were unharmed.

The fire crew had commandeered a local boat in order to reach the overturned cruiser after being alerted by the husband of one of the trapped women.
