A new management organisation caring for Hadrian's Wall is beginning to take shape as the first four board members are appointed.
They will form part of a seven-person board supporting a new management body temporarily named NEWCO.
It will develop a business model for the future, and other responsibilities include trail management and marketing.
The Roman wall, which stretches from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend, is a World Heritage Site.
Further members will be appointed in the new year.
