The campaign aims to attract more visitors to the region
Landmarks across the north-east of England are to be shown on national television in advertisements aimed at raising the region's profile.

The 1m campaign begins on Tuesday and runs for the next two months.

It is hoped it will boost tourism, which already brings 1bn a year into the regional economy.

Locations shown include the Angel of the North, High Force, Roseberry Topping, the Farne Islands, Hadrian's Wall, Durham Cathedral and Newcastle.

Stacy Hall, director of communications at One NorthEast, said: "This television campaign is an important step forward in communicating the many great attractions of the North East to a wide audience who, in many cases, will have limited understanding of our region and all it has to offer.

"I am confident that this strikingly beautiful commercial will capture the imagination of those who view it and inspire many to come and discover our region for themselves."
