The Conservatives will control both councils in the county

The Conservative Party will be firmly in control of local government in Cheshire from next year.
The party took control of the two new unitary authorities which come into power in 2009 - Cheshire West and Chester, and Cheshire East.
In Cheshire West, the Tories took 55 seats to Labour's 13 and the Liberal Democrats' four.
In Cheshire East, the party won 59 seats to the Lib Dems' 12 and Labour's six. There are four independents.
The shadow councillors will be responsible for setting up the new authorities and setting the 2009/10 budgets.
Existing borough and county councillors will be continuing in their roles until March 2009.
Although the Conservative Party was widely expected to seal power in Cheshire East, BBC North West political correspondent David Woodthorpe said the other poll was expected to be a close fight.
Under the changes, the axe is falling on the top tier county council, the existing city authority and the five borough councils.
Chester, Vale Royal and Ellesmere Port and Neston councils will disappear and be replaced by City of Chester and Cheshire West.
Congleton, Macclesfield, and Crewe and Nantwich councils will be merged into East Cheshire Council.
