Phone survey on hospital shake-up
More than 600 people in the Bristol area are to be telephoned for their views on the proposed shake-up of the city's hospitals.

The survey is part of a three-month consultation process by the Bristol Health Services Plan.

The proposals include a new 350m "super-hospital" at either the Frenchay or Southmead sites.

A further 150m will be spent improving community hospital facilities in Yate, Kingswood and central and east Bristol.

Harry Hayer, acting programme manager for the Bristol Health Services Plan, said: "We are using every method we can to find out people's views on our plans to develop and improve health services over the next few years."

The in-depth telephone survey, taking place from 2 to 13 November, will be conducted by Test Research, part of the MORI market research group.

The questionnaire is also designed to test how aware people are of the plans and the consultation in progress.
