Residents of one road in South Gloucestershire are being consulted about the future of the speed bumps on their road.
The humps on Shire Way in Yate, which were installed in 2004, are unpopular with many residents.
More than 2,000 questionnaires have been sent to households in the area to see if the majority want them removed.
Accident statistics showed that between 1998 and 2002 there were 10 recorded injury accidents on the Shire Way.
South Gloucestershire councillor Pat Hockey, said: "If people don't like the cushions but still want traffic speeds kept down, we want to hear their ideas on what they feel would be better."
