A 25-year-old Bristol man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 19-year-old man was shot dead in a city nightclub early on Saturday morning.

Dean Myles, 19, and from the London area, was shot at Club UK in the Stokes Croft area of Bristol.

Mr Myles died less than an hour later at Bristol Royal Infirmary from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

A police spokesman said he was pleased with the public's response but urged clubbers to contact detectives.

Det Supt Arthur Lewis said he believed there were some people inside the club who have not yet spoken to police.

"We believe that there were around 200 people in the club, and we need to trace and to speak to as many of those individuals as possible," he said.

"Every piece of information we receive, no matter how insignificant you think it may be."

Anyone who was in the club or Stokes Croft area around 0400 BST is urged to contact police or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
