Organisers of a competition to design a landmark for the East have had more than 100 entries including ideas from America, Italy and Holland.
The deadline for entries to the competition, which was spearheaded by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), is Wednesday.
The idea was put forward after EEDA commissioned research found the region had a weak sense of identity.
The competition is being run by the Royal Institute of British Architects.
