The 70th anniversary of the first flight of one of Britain's most famous fighter aircraft is being celebrated.
Spitfire Anniversary Year takes off at Duxford's Imperial war Museum on Sunday with an aerial display.
Carolyn Grace, the world's only female Spitfire pilot still flying, will perform in her own aircraft.
More than 22,000 Spitfires were built during the War with Duxford housing a large collection of the surviving aircraft.
Further events this year include lectures and chances to see the planes up close and meet the pilots.
The Spitfire was designed by Reginald Mitchell from Staffordshire, and built at plants in Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, and in Southampton.
