Toddler in park drugs wrap scare
A toddler was taken to hospital for checks after picking up a discarded drugs wrap.

The two-year-old boy picked up the foil wrap containing traces of a controlled drug at Lewannick Park on Friday.

He was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after an inspection of the wrap revealed it contained a very small amount of the drug.

Medical staff later decided he had not ingested any powder and he was then allowed home.

Sergeant Baxter Provan, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "This was a frightening experience for this lad's mum.

"Drug users should, and must, accept that they have a responsibility to ensure discarded paraphernalia does not fall into the wrong hands.

"It's not difficult to dispose of such things safely."
