Motorists warned of long delays
Motorists are being warned to expect long delays when roadworks start on one of the busiest junctions in the West Midlands.

The Longbridge island, where the M40 meets the A46, is used by 57,000 vehicles every day.

Work will start on Monday to improve the roads surrounding the island on the outskirts of Warwick.

The A46 approach from Coventry is being widened and the work is expected to last for six months.

The Highways Agency said it would do its best to reduce disruption at peak times, but major delays were inevitable.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or use alternative routes.
