Poem event at Shakespeare house

Hundreds of poems were posted on the railings last year
Budding poets are being asked to attach their work to the railings outside the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon on Thursday.

The Post a Poem event has been organised to mark National Poetry Day.

Organisers are asking that all the poems are no longer than one side of A4 paper and have the theme of The Future and Shakespeare or Stratford-upon-Avon.

It is hoped the success of last year's event can be matched, when hundreds of poems were posted on the railings.

The poems will stay on display outside Shakespeare's Birthplace on Henley Street over the weekend.

They will then be put on display in the town's library.
